Whirlpool top load washer Model # WTW58ESVW quit working

This morning I started a load of clothes and the machine started filling. There was air in the water lines due to a main pipe breaking and being repaired by the water company. You could hear the noise from the air in the lines as the washer was filling. I left the washroom and when I returned the washing machine had stopped before it ever completed filling. The timer stopped as well. I checked the power and it is fine coming out of the wall. I pulled the hoses from the rear of the machine and bled the air out of the lines. I reconnected the hoses but the machine will not do anything in any of the timer positions. What do I start checking?

Thanks in advance!

can you get it into diagnostic mode?

Direct Drive no diagnostic mode

I guess I’d check to see if water inlet valve screens are clogged. Then I check lid switch.

Thanks for your response.

Lid switch is fine. The inlet screens are not clogged and they show continuity when checked with an ohmeter. Where should I check next?

Power in and out of timer

Power in and out of timer

I found a video that helped me get through testing the sensor switch.

When the timer is pulled out (turned on) in the regular wash position, the timer is sending 120 volts to the sensor. The sensor is only sending 1 volt to the cold water solinoid in the cold position. It is not sending anything to the hot water solinoid in the hot position. If I understand this right, the sensor should be sending 120 volts to the appropriate solinoid. So if the inlet water valve will not let the water fill up the washer, would that stop the rest of the operations? The timer even stopped...

My wife just informed me that occasionally the machine will start aggitating before it is completly filled up. Is this also the fault of the sensor/temperature controller?

Wow. Now this is interesting... Are both of these parts the same with different numbers? It shows both of them to work on this machine...

OK. I understand. The number of pins is different. The one on my machine has fourteen pins. So this should fix my problems?
