It's been just over a year since I last repaired my garage fridge, a GE GSL22JFRE BS, so it's time for something else on it to stop working. It is just over 15 years old and was supplied by the builder when we bought the house. It's serving as our garage/overflow fridge. It is usually pretty full, so it is missed already. Last night I went to grab the ice cream and it was way too soft. The popsicles were soft too. I assume it had stopped running for a few hours. I crammed everything salvageable into the house fridge and upright freezer. This morning, I pulled it away from the wall and started taking stuff apart. My current steps undertaken so far.

The fridge lights work and it gets power. Turning the temperature dials get no reaction. No clicking, no humming, nothing.

I tossed on a 3 in 1 on there to test things. It made no difference. It was wired correctly.

The line leads (orange and black) to the compressor test 0 V on a multimeter.

The connector on the bottom of the control board (replaced 12/2019) test 120 V from red to black and 0V from orange to black. Both temperature dials are turned all the way to the coldest settings.

There was no ice build up on the coils in the freezer.

What is my next step? I assume there is a way to test the control knobs/thermostat? I did that on another fridge (driveway find) and that fixed its not cooling issue. What else do I need to do? Refrigerators still seem to be in short supply and pricing is still insane, so buying new is my last resort. I'd grab a used one off Facebook Marketplace if the repair cost is too high.

If your talking about this connector at the bottom of the board. That is line into board the other 2 terminals are for compressor and defrost heater. Remove the board and look at the relay connections, they are prone to cracking.

I did not see any cracks. Are there any pins I can test to see if the thermostat is working? My neighbor has the same fridge in his garage, so I am inclined to "borrow" a few parts to see if replacing them makes a difference.

Oh, and our upright freezer died a few days later. I think a curse has been put on our garage.

The terminals circled are part of the control circuit for the compressor. There is no thermostat in this refrigerator, it is controlled by a micro processor. So a few questions first - you indicated the lights come on when door is opened and the compressor is not running. Are the evap and condenser fans running? Is the display on the dispenser working?
