Fridge was bought in 01/2018 just after the warranty ran out the fridge stopped cooling and the ice makers stop working. Called whirlpool and they said they had a promotion going for this model and would cover it. Repairman comes out and orders 2 new ice makers and a condenser fan I believe. Now just 17 months later this fridge is no longer cooling and the ice makers are working intermittently. I turned the ice makers off and the fridge started back cooling but will randomly stop cooling.

talked to whirlpool today and they said that this model has a limited warranty on the condenser for parts and labor. They could send someone out and if it was this it would cover it free. If not then it would be on me. I don’t want to keep throwing $500 at this fridge every 18 months. Does this issue sound like a condenser again? Is there something else I should check? Is this model # known for issues? Just trying to make my best decision moving forward.

any help or input would be very appreciated thanks.

Only service flash in service matter is for a iced up fresh food evaporator. Look for ice build up on outside of fresh food evaporator.

In your case is the condesnor fan running?

Yea it is. At times those the fridge will be blowing warm air. Currently the fridge is cooling like normal. Have checked for ice build up off and on and haven’t seen any. Thanks.
