Whirlpool WRF736SDAM14 door gasket replacement

Recommended Posts

Now that I've decided to replace both fridge section gaskets on my Whirlpool, I've yet another question.

I intend to remove the fridge doors for this task, the left door contains the control panel/dispensing system panel. Will the refrigeration system be adversely affected with this panel disconnected yet the fridge still plugged in and running? Is this possible at all? I do intend to disconnect power to the fridge before disconnecting this panel but am wondering will the unit operate with this control panel disconnected?

I'm too lazy to empty all food from the unit while I have the door off and will use plastic sheeting to seal off the cabinet while I have the door off, yet want to keep the fridge running.

TIA!

There’s no need to remove the doors to replace the gaskets.

You’re making it way more complicated by taking the doors off. The gasket pulls out of the groove it sits in very easily, and the new one is just as easily pushed in. It shouldn’t take you more than a couple of minutes per door, even if it’s your first time doing it.
