Hi-

My daughter lives in a second floor walk up condo in Chicago. The place had an old dryer that literally took hours to dry a load. She hired someone to clean out the vent line and bought a new GE dryer. It uses natural gas. The clothes come out warm , so there appears to be heat. But a load of clothes still takes 3 hours to dry. Any thoughts on how to proceed?

Most likely you still have a venting issue make sure the hose in back is not crushed or kinked.  Since it is gas It is too dangerous to run with out a proper vent hooked up if you have a poor venting issue you could have a buildup of CO carbon monoxide very dangerous I would recommend getting a professional out to properly diagnose the issue.

most likely a venting problem that was not cleaned properly

Also ,  ge  is the worst dryer made in my opinion, that along with a bad venting situation is never going to preform well
