Agitation begins and lasts exactly 30 seconds followed by a 5 second pause. Agitation resums again for 45 seconds followed by 12 minutes of nothing. After this, 30 seconds agitation, then rinse. Any thoughts? Could it be this particular relay in the control board?

Did you Run diagnostics? any error codes?

there should be a tech sheet top LH corner at front of cabinet as you are facing the unit.. That will tell you how to find and read codes...
