Brand new Whirlpool WRF767SDHZ high pitched noise?

Recommended Posts

Posted

We just purchased this refrigerator and installed it last night. Got up this morning and while having my coffee I noticed a very high pitched, whistling type noise. It is a very penetrating noise that is irritating. Almost painful. I can open the doors and hear the fan stop, but still hear the noise. Must be the compressor, or maybe inverter (from what I've read).

If there was some ambient noise it may not be so noticeable, but with only my wife and I here it stays pretty quiet. Especially, in the mornings. Is there a way to insulate or dampen this noise. We like the unit, but won't be able to live with this noise. I will know for sure once my wife wakes up. Her hearing is much better than mine, and as you know, if the wife isn't happy, nobody's happy.
