Chashb Posted April 25, 2021 Posted April 25, 2021 Manufacturer: LG Type of Appliance: refrigerator Model Number: PFE28RSHHSS Have you validated the model number at an online parts site like Repair Clinic? (yes or no): Yes Have you watched the video on how to search for manuals and have you searched the Downloads section prior to posting this request? (yes or no): Yes Most bizarre bottom freezer door removal I've run into yet... Looking for a service manual hopefully with a procedure for proper removal of the bottom freezer door so that I can much more easily install a new icemaker. Thanks! Charlie
Terry Carmen Posted April 25, 2021 Posted April 25, 2021 (edited) You need to remove one screw in each side of the slide, closest to the freezer door. It's a silver screw in driven into white plastic. Once you do that, the entire front and basket should lift right out. Here's a video It's about halfway through. You can ignore all the top door/water line stuff. Edited April 25, 2021 by Terry Carmen
Captain Dunsel Posted April 25, 2021 Posted April 25, 2021 See if this service manual helps you: Think it is page 13. 1
Chashb Posted April 26, 2021 Author Posted April 26, 2021 I took a snapshot of the lower freezer drawer with it open. (Below) Are we talking apples and apples Terry? Charlie
Terry Carmen Posted April 26, 2021 Posted April 26, 2021 > I took a snapshot of the lower freezer drawer with it open. (Below) Are we talking apples and apples Terry? Probably not. That one looks a lot different. I believe that one comes off with the 4 screws going from the bracket into the door. 1

It sure threw me for a loop! lol I believe you're right as that's what the manual is indicating as well. Sure seems like an over-complicated design, but that's LG now isn't it? lol Thanks to you and Captain Dunsel! Charlie
