FRS6LF7JM0 defrost drain leak

Found small puddles of water under freezer door and determined the defrost drain was not draining. Disassembled to attempt clearing by pouring hot water directly down drain and succeeded - after a few applications, heard a sudden sucking sound and the water swirled down through the opening and into the evap tray.

The odd thing is that the opening in the bottom of the coil frame is not lined up correctly with the grommet of the drain tube - overlap looks like an eye-shape rather than the frame hole setting down into the grommet. I can see under the coil frame where the grommet extends and the two don't line up, the frame opening is sitting <ON> the drain grommet, not <IN> it, offset by more than half the diameter of the opening. It's probably been like this since day 1 and we only found it due to the drain plugging up (fridge is 10+ years old), and the coil assembly has no flex or give in it, so I cannot mate the two correctly. Anyone ever heard of this before? Should have taken photos while I had it apart, sorry.
