Whirlpool GLT3057RQ01 gas cooktop blowing fuses

A few months ago, the item in questions started energizing is gas igniters spontaneously, sometimes in the middle of the night, to everyone's concern. The electric feed was unplugged and left unused, manually lighting burners when used.

The assembly was taken out recently to refinish the countertop it mounts in, and after being reinstalled and plugged in for "test" immediately blew the circuit breaker. I suspect a foreign object inside may have been the original culprit, and shifted enough during the counter refinish to make the issue more immediate and severe. Can these be disassembled for internal examination? I have an exploded parts diagram, so it looks like they can, but I don't see any screws or ways to take apart. Any help greatly appreciated.
