Main & Inverter Board Fried - Samsung French Door Fridge

My Samsung French Door fridge (model# RF26HFENDSR) suddenly stopped running. No lights, no fan, no cooling, no power at all.

I pulled the main control board out and found the compartment was ALL DAMP and WET! It appears somehow condensation built up and the entire back portion of BOTH the main board AND inverter was wet, causing it to fry.

I plan to replace both boards but want to make sure condensation doesn't build up again. I also can't see how it's possible for condensation build up in this compartment which is sealed off and behind the fridge. Has anyone seen this issue before and can provide tips on preventing it?

It is very possible that the insulation inside the back wall has deteriorated. So when the refrigerator works, the back panel becomes cold, and the warm ambient air condensate on that wall.

Maybe you can tinker with adding the insulation, but not sure if it will work.

Maybe someone else can chime in with a different explanation for the dampness.

Could it be a leak from inside the cabinet instead of condensation?

If you take the board out and press on the cabinet wall does more water come in?

I wouldn’t replace boards without finding source of water.

I think Slav is on to something. We know those lines on FF evaporator insulation breaks down causing ice ball. Could be similar.
