Amana ACR4303MFS4 burner turns off by itself

We purchased a brand new range at the end of March, the Amana ACR4303MFS4 electric range with coil burners.  Shortly after we purchased it, we found that the front left burner (the most often used burner) likes to turn off by itself.   When this happens, we usually have to wait a while before we can turn it back on again.  This has been very sporadic, only happening 4-5 times since we purchased.

What would be the recommended troubleshooting protocol for this issue?

This problem you are having maybe normal operation of these new UL rated safety elements that are being used on newer electric ranges.

I haven't ran into any of this style elements yet where they are the problem.

The big center disc and button that contacts the bottom of the pan will shut off the element if it gets two hot, (not sure if a pan needs to press the center down for it to come on or not - I don't think it does).

If you have it on HI heat setting and remove the pan the element will get too hot and open the safety switch in the center and it won't come back on until it cools down enough, (not sure how long with the pan removed that it takes for the switch to open and shut the element off).

If you have continuing problems with them shutting down you could replace them with the standard elements that all appliance stores should stock and just not have the new safety feature.

Read your owners manual - it should explain the operation of the safety feature on the surface elements.

Thank you for the heads up.  I wasnt aware of the new safety coils.  The first time that it turned off, we were using high heat for a bit, but the other times we did not.  I think I'll just buy replacement coils without the feature given how often my wife does extended cooking.

The coils are fine. Buy her new pots and pans with good heavy, flat bottoms.

The burner doesn't actually cut out until 400-something degrees, which is right around the smoke point for oil. If it's cutting out and isn't broken, it means it has poor contact with the pot.
