I have an LG gas dryer that has begun making a very high pitch noise while running.  Does not matter if on heat or air, happens when drum is spinning.  Completely disassembled and looked at drum support rollers, blower fan, belt, motor, etc...   I completely cleaned everything, spun the rollers and idler pulley (no rough noise like a bad bearing/bushing).  Reassembled and it still makes noise.  Problem is, I feel like I can't run the unit without the front assembled so I can't see what is going on.  I was picturing being able to either spray some lubricant on the rollers or belt to try and pinpoint cause.  Any suggestions on how to troubleshoot, or common LG problem, greatly appreciated.  Thanks.

I’d change belt, rollers, shafts and idler.

I’d use OEM parts not Amazon knockoffs.

Whatever you do don't try to lubricate anything. It'll make it quiet for a day and then a whole lot worse than it was initially.

Sounds like worn rollers or idler, I'd start there.

It is possible to run the dryer with the front cabinet off with the front drum support in place. Remove the door switch from the panel and put into wire harness then hold the switch closed to run. Next if needed the dryer can be run with drum removed, may have to prop up idler to bypass broken belt switch. Only run dryer for a short period of time as there is no airflow to pull the flame through the burner tube.

May want to inspect blower wheel for items and rubbing first before test running disassembled.

lou123 what ever happened to this dryer thread?  I ran into something may help you. As I changed out the old belt & running my new belt 3 minutes or so, I see over the drum, on top center of new belt wear marks, something had been touching the very tight new belt, I stopped it as I heard a high pitch noise when running. Take it apart again change idler pully this time. The old pully was worn away almost translucent to the shaft. Also tri ring had unmounted, an inspection mirror would of caught this. Anyway much quiter now.
