I have a Whirlpool with an Inverter Compressor that stopped cooling twice, two weeks apart. After unplugging and replugging, it tried starting

and would run for 5-8 seconds before stopping. It tried restarting several times. This recent episode (Freezer rose to 40 + degrees) It finally restarted and stayed running after an hour.

I assume it's still running because I haven't gotten a call back.

This is a difficult intermittent problem. What can cause the compressor to "almost" start several timers? Each time it ran a few seconds longer.

An old house loose receptacle problems?

A capacitor on the inverter going bad?

PS. It helps if you post a model number.

+1 model number.  Check the inverter for a blinking led. Make sure the condenser is clean and condenser fan is running.
