Maytag washer model MVWC360AW0 will not spin nor agitate

I have looked at this washer and the lid switch works properly.  It will not spin nor agitate.  I have not taken anything apart yet. I am looking for the exact or most likely culprit.  I have read the shift actuator is the most likely reason.  Can someone please help by pointing me in the right direction.  Thank you.

Make sure the belt is not broken or slipped off. Does the motor power up?

Posted

can you hear the motor hum?  Did you check the cap? Run in diagnostic mode and see if there are error codes or failures

The belt is fine.  The motor does hum.  Not sure about how to run diagnostiocs.

Should be a tech sheet in a plastic bag attached to the inside of the cabinet on the front left side. That will give you the diagnostic info.
