The freezer has melted and the temperature in the fridge is climbing. Fan is running but where should I start troubleshooting?

Thanks

Compressor is not running. Evaporator fan was running last night but it is now not running.

I pulled the leads off the compressor and checked for voltage. None found. There is no noise like the unit trying to start and then waiting to retry.

The fan that runs in the back of the freezer to push air into the fridge is not running either.

The leads connected to the compressor is where the voltage is supplied, so you have to check voltage with the wires still connected.

I checked the voltage by pulling the leads off and checking on the leads. The terminal block on the compressor shields the contacts and it is a challenge to get a probe into make contact.

Model number appears wrong. Hard to provide specific info without knowing units design.

I never did find the serial number plate so I had to work with a handwritten note in the user manual. The model number should be as noted in this post.

Thanks

The evaporator fan motor, condenser fan motor and compressor are wired  in parellel. So if one part is running they all should be running.

None of them are running. So does this mean the ADC is not working.

When the fridge is plugged in you can hear a hum and then you can hear a relay open. (Click). Am I right in assuming the first part I should try to change out is the Start capacitor?

Thanks

Or thermostat, need to check for voltage at the fan motors and compressor. If no voltage need to check the thermostat then the adc board.

Take the start device off of the compressor, ohm the winding of the compressor. Shake the start device and if it sounds like loose gravel inside, replace the start device. You can check the run capacitor to make sure it is ok.

I measure the start capacitor and it is 15.7uF. Label says 15uF.

The start device sounds solid. No rattles or other noise.

The compressor windings are:

Top

        Pin A

Pin B       Pin C

Pin A - B: 4.9 Ohm

Pin B - 😄 7.6 Ohm

Pin C - A: 3.1 Ohm

Thanks

Paul
