Trouble with Maytag washer model MHW7100DW0

I looked at this machine. It will not start. I tried to run diagnostics on it. It did not flash error codes. I tried to start "quick diagnostic self test" it would not proceed. I tried to bring up last error codes. Nothing. Apparently, a new control board was installed about 60 days ago. It worked for awhile, then start failure a week ago. I have read that, on these machines, the culprit can be the water temp sensor. Or a shorted wire. Anyone else with this experience.  It would be a shame to just order a new control board.
