Samsung refrigerator temp not correct

Recommended Posts

Hi, any help will be greatly appreciated. Our Samsung refrigerator will show 0 (freezer) and 34(fridge) on front display, but it's not correct. We unplug and plug it back in and it will then show correct temps, like 10 and 55. It started and we would have to reset it about monthly or so, but we are now having to do it daily. Thanks again for anything!

Every refrigerator is different, what is your model number?

The first set of numbers in your post are set point numbers and are not actual temps. On power up those numbers are actual temps in each section. I your temps are that high there are other problems. Start by pulling the error codes, : Press Freezer and Fridge buttons simultaneously for 8-12 seconds, until the display quits blinking and beeps, then release the buttons and read Fault codes. ( Note: there will be no sound when both buttons are pressed at the same time ) This will also cancel the fault code being displayed at start up if any.

It shows 39 e and 40 e

As long as I unplug it each morning it resets and cools back down to those targeted numbers. My wife asked if they made a plug in timer that would reset it every 24 hours lol

These codes are associated with the "Direct Cool" Ice Maker (in the upper compartment), is it working?

If not, and your refrigerator was manufactured before 2019, the Ice Maker needs to be replaced by a professional under the Service Bulletin ASC20170602002 . Call Samsung first, maybe they can cover it.

No, it freezes up and then continues to freeze up until even the evaporator fan starts to get loud too freezing up. Thanks for that info I'll contact Samsung using the ammunition you gave me.
