Hello,

I have a LDF7551ST LG Dishwasher that stopped working. I have done a lot of reading and troubleshooting so far and have not come to any conclusions, that is why I am here.

Symptoms - The machine makes a chime sound after being unplugged and when you press power. Other than that, nothing appears on the display and nothing works when touching the buttons.

Things I have tested and tried:

Noise Filter - Checks fine with a multimeter, both ends (Red and White) checks good for Continuity and I tested with power and getting 118 volts on the Red Side (the side leaving the filter).

We replaced the main control board (per the suggestions of LG tech person over the phone). This did not solve the problem and thus returned the main board and received a refund for the part. I would like to know if there is a way to test the board with the multimeter to confirm it is working.

I have tested the switches at the top where it latches. Both switches were tested for continuity and are functioning properly.

**Wiring - I found a brown wire in the bundle that seems to have what appears to be a burn mark on it. It is the only wire that shows this marking. I cut out a large section of the wire and tired in a new wire. Hoping to bypass any fault that may be happening in that wire. Still nothing. Would the wiring harness need to be replaced entirely if this was the issue? Also what could have caused this?

Touch panel - Is there a way to check if the touch panel is functioning properly? ie: with the multimeter?

What else could be the problem?

Thank you for your time in helping to problem solve this.

Update:

After doing some additional reading... I unplugged two spots where the keypad/touchpads connect to the main control board. I then checked each connection with a voltage meter to see if it was sending out anything. I read that I could touch the pins anywhere and would likely get some reading if it was good... the range should be around 4 and 15 volts. I was getting about 4-7 on each of the connectors. The conclusion is that the control panel is likely still good and that the keypad is bad.

My issue now is determining which one is bad. On this dishwasher there are two sides with two control pads... after looking them up... one is 155.00 dollars and the other side is 185.00. Yikes. Is there any way to further test which side could be not working...? The right side with the power button does nothing when I press power... no lights come up on the display. That leads me to think this is the side that is faulty, but would like to be able to test before investing that much on a part that may or may not be the correct one.

Thank you!
