Need correct part number for ice maker AMANA ARB2217CC

Greetings,

Working on a "long distance" ice maker repair with a friend.  He has the Amana bottom freezer model mentioned in subject.  The ice maker has a cover that is angled at the top. Not square like every other icemaker I've worked on.  I don't know if this makes a difference or not. Maybe it interferes with the drawer or similar. I don't have access to the fridge here, so I can't tell.

Some sites mention IC11B as the generic replacement and show it as a square covered unit  Others mention an IM900.  When I looked at it, without disassembly, it appeared to only have one mounting screw (that I could visually see) at the bottom of the unit. I didn't see any at the top, but I didn't disassemble it either. All the models I saw online have two screws at the top.

I haven't diagnosed the issue yet, but I don't want to travel all that way without a replacement or replacement parts.  He did mention to me that his wife had a tech in a few years ago and heated it up with a hair dryer (he told her it was a frozen line).  and it worked for a month or so.  I'm not at that stage yet.

Can anyone supply me with the correct replacement part number?

Thanks.

Thank you both for the replies.  Yes, I hadn't thought about a leaky valve.  I'll have to check that out before ordering and heading down there.

Thank you.
