Whirlpool WDT730PAHB new install- "Spare" wire connector?

Recommended Posts

Hi all, frustration sets in...I found a suitable replacement for my "totalled" 2013 Whirpool.  A 2021 Whirpool!

Install seemed pretty simple...I had put on a plug-and-cord, so only the water and drain to really worry about.  Connecting the drain and I see a loose connector.  Flip the thing over to see if I can see where it is supposed to go.  No luck.  I do see that the fill valve has something that looks like two terminals but no other connection points.

So I'm wondering what da heck is going on here.  Do dishwashers sometimes have spare connectors on the wiring harnesses for unused features on a model, like is common with cars?  Or is something wrong here?  Just when I thought I was almost back up and running...

thanks again guys.

Disregard...looks like both halves of the inlet connector...I think I have it re-assembled properly.

OK, re-regard ;).

Hooked up the inlet valve the way the replacement unit show- d/w doesn't fill :(.

Salvaged the inlet valve from my outgoing machine- it's P/N W10195047.  Thinking the path of least resistance is to try to install this one and see if all works, rather than dealing with the blue big box store to get repair/replacement.  Yes, I did scour the local independent appliance retailers, but inventories are scarce- especially on black units.  So I had to get what I could get, and the blue store was the only place :(.

Found a few product listings that show this P/N compatible with the one that shows for my new dishwasher (WDT730PAHB).  Does anyone see any problem with my trying this guy?  Assuming the electrical connector fits- had to shove it under the counter to free up the kitchen for normal activities this AM and won't be able to check for a few hours.

Thanks!

@buckyswider The water inlet valve off your old dishwasher should work on the new one with no problem, (your old dishwasher inlet valve part number subs over to the same part that your new dishwasher takes).
