Broan Chain-Pull Ventilation Fan Model # 506 (506-C?)

I have a Broan chain-pull thru-the-wall ventilation fan in my kitchen and was hoping to replace the grille (I prefer metal over plastic). I got conflicting information about whether or not the grille I wanted (Broan Part #97013825) would fit my model.

Case in point: I ordered Broan Part #97013825 (Metal Grille) online. The product description said it was for use with Mfr. Model Number 506. However, when it arrived, the Grille Kit Installation Instructions say it is NOT for use on Model 506 Chain Pull Fans.

Does anyone know whether the metal grille will actually fit my model? I really don't want to disassemble the whole thing just to find out it won't work...

I have attached the installation instructions for reference.

Thanks in advance.

For the record, according to the parts list for my model, all the parts that should be affected by the grille swap are exactly the same.

I don't know anything about these but you say yours is a chain pull on/off,  I don't see chain pull mentioned in that info at all, (except for the top NOTE about not being for the chain pull models).

Maybe the difference might be the hole for the pull chain models might be rounded and smooth for the chain to pull thru and the above kit looks like all use a knob to turn on/off, (hole wouldn't have to be radius ed for the chain to ride on, just a rough hole thru cover and knob hides rough hole behind it).

Thank you. That makes sense. But that wouldn't make it completely incompatible, right? I mean, it wouldn't work ideally but it would still work with a little jerry-rigging? (The plastic grille is just SO UGLY -- I'd almost like to figure out a workaround than look at the plastic! However, I know I'm being picky, too, ha!)

Update: I bit the bullet and took the plastic grille off, and lo & behold! The metal grille popped right on, and everything seems to be working perfectly! The only downside is that my fingers are all cut up from the metal slats and now there's blood everywhere! Oh well! Thanks for your thoughts and attention!
