E3 Error Code on Defy Dishwasher DMS300TRS

Good day fellow tinkerers! Nice to meet you and hoping to get right down to it,

I have a Defy Dishwasher, DMS300TRS, 12 place, about 6 years old.

I have since last October changed the heating element (Error code F5) and the drainage hose and drainage pump.

Last month, I started throwing out a E3 error, before the inlet valve opens, it feels like its running a pump of some sort, some sort of mild spinning noise, which lasts for about 8 minutes and then it throws the error.

I decided it was time for a new workhorse and bought a new Defy Dishwasher, very happy with it but I want to sell the old the DMS300 so I wanted to attempt to repair it.

I did some research and realised it was most likely the inlet valve. So I ordered a replacement and installed in yesterday. I ran the machine and it worked, did a complete quick wash which is 28minutes.

When I tried to run it again however, I’m getting the same symptoms and error code, E3 after about 8 minutes.

I have noticed that the air breather assembly has some sediment build up near the top channel. I’m wondering if that has something to do with it.

In any case, hoping one for you gurus can help me out.

TIA!
