Samsung RF18HFENBSR freezer set point +8F, actual temp -18F (fridge temp OK)

I have a Samsung RF18HFENBSR fridge (2015 vintage) in a motor home.   Fridge temp is set at +38 deg F and actual measured temp +39F deg F.  Freezer temp is much colder than the set point - set point of +8 deg F, actual measured temp of -18 deg F.     No error messages.   Power cool is not lit up (feature presumed to not be activated - I can press the power cool button and the icon lights up).   One more bit of information - the icemaker is not installed - my wife hates to give up precious freezer space to an icemaker.   Fridge is installed on an 8 inch high platform - if I need to access to the backside of the fridge I will need to build a temporary platform to be able to the fridge out of its pocket.    TIA for any assistance.

If you don't have the ice maker installed or even just don't have it hooked up to water you need to make sure the ice maker is turned off on the control panel.

I haven't looked up your model# to see what exactly you have but lots of the Samsungs will run the freezer down to -15 degrees for faster ice production anytime the ice maker is on and the ice bin isn't full.

Willie - thanks for the prompt reply.   The icemaker switch was turned off when the ice maker components were removed back in April or May.
