YKERS507HW2 Kitchenaid superba keypad pin test

Hi

Tried to fix the dim display by cleaning the keypad ribbon cable connector . The internet is full of wonderful suggestions

That resulted in no display at all !

Found a bad factory solder joint on one of the wire pin connectors.( Vertical connector , top single pin extreme left of board viewed from the back.

Awesome ,display  is powered up again. Nice and bright

Now the keypad only half works . It was working before I embarked on this project

After several dis-assemblies and re-assemblies with varying success of various random buttons working  and  a different result with each disassembly ( but not the all important CANCEL/OFF - which you sort of need once you get the oven working which I did) I'm at the point where I'm trying to figure out if this is a keypad /cable issue or a socket issue.

Does anybody have a trace chart for the keypad buttons/ribbon cable so I can try to isolate the issue?

I cleaned the cable with ispropyl alcohol and the ribbon socket as well . ran a thin piece of paper across the socket contacts to make sure there was no buildup.

Any help or suggestions appreciated.

Thx

Brad
