Samsung refrigerator RF265BEAESR/AA water dispenser button not responding to touch

I have a SAMSUNG RF265BEAESR/AA refrigerator (with Family Hub). About 3 months ago the water dispense button stopped responding to touch (see attached photo). The other two buttons (cubed ice and crushed ice) work fine. The result is that I cannot dispense water from the fridge but I am getting ice production (filter and water lines are fine).

At first, I thought that replacing the entire Refrigerator Dispenser Panel Assembly Part DA97-17342B would solve the problem.  But the new replacement part exhibited the same problem - water dispenser button would not function. I have replaced the entire assembly TWICE to try to convince myself that it might have been a faulty replacement part. But both times the replacement part exhibited the same faulty behavior.

At this point, I'm lost for solutions. I would really appreciate any insights or advice on this problem.

I have a similar issue with the same model frig.  The panel on mine goes from having the light on/crushed ice to ice and then back again after several moments. I can turn the light off and go to ice with the buttons, but after a few moments it turns on the light and goes to crushed ice ALL BY ITSELF.  I intend to remove the button unit and see if I can diagnose the problem.  Will probably get a new button unit.  It should like my problem may be the micro switches.  On your frig I am surprised that a new part didn't fix the machine.  I assume you tried calling Samsung....not that they would help much except to tell you to call service.  Samsung did fix the freezing ice maker even though it was out of warrantee.  I know they have had a class action on that so maybe that is why.

Was there a final resolution to this problem? I have one coming up in few days. Same issue. Please share if anyone has any insights. Tnx.
