Bosch Oven Control Board Replacement

Recommended Posts

Posted

I have a Bosch 8451UC single wall oven that has been malfunctioning. The oven greatly overshoots the set temperature no matter the mode it is set. I had a repair service come look at it and they felt it could either be the temperature sensor, bake element, or control board, however, they quoted me $1,000 for these repairs. While I am not the most handy guy, I figured that I could make these repairs for a lot cheaper. I replaced the temperature sensor and still had the issue. I then replaced the Bake element and continued to have the issue. I then “attempted” to replace the control board, but clearly I did something incorrectly because the circuit shorted once I turned it back on at the breaker. Does anyone have instructions or a video that could help install the board correctly?

Appreciate any help as I’d love to avoid overpaying to have this repaired. Thanks in advance!

Number 1 find new tech company they should have been able test element, sensor and board to determine which was bad. Not quote all parts possible.

Maybe a short took out old board and now took out your new board. Unit needs tested.

Tell the new tech company up front the model number and that you already worked on it. You made a bad choice of service company and then another bad choice acting on their advice. I've done this kind of thing before myself and I feel your pain. I wouldn't want to see you get hurt some more dealing with another trip charge and still not having it solved.

Good luck!
