Have a Magic Chef d/w(m# DU2J)that will not drain when I advance the timer to the drain, I hear the solenoid pop but the motor does not turn on. I check the power at the red wire and yellow from the white off the relay and got voltage during the drain, and checked cont off the yellow and red wire for an open winding on the motor. My best guess is that it is either the timer and or the motor. Any feed  back would be great:dude:

You're on the right track-- extend your voltage measurement on down to the motor, see if you're getting 120vac right at the motor when the timer is in the drain cycle. If not, then check all the wires in the harness connections; if god, replace the relay. If you are getting voltage at the motor, replace the motor/ump assembly... or advise the customer to buy a new d/w.

Since this is a one directional motor, if it works in wash, it wont be the motor or relay. All we are doing for drain is popping the solenoid and holding the flap open. Does the motor run in wash?
