Robertshaw Flame Master oven control question

Recommended Posts

Posted

Greetings -  I have been working on Appliances for over 30 years,  mostly in the 'Vintage' category.  I have come upon a simple repair - but which component to replace?  this is a Nat. Gas oven with a Robertshaw flame master valve, with controls of the stove top standing pilots, and the oven standing pilot fitted with an MSC safety valve.  The Pilot will not Light, period. The Oven is a Crown Carefree 6 burner range w/ two ovens.  One oven works fine, standing pilot works as it ought to. The other, I can't get the pilot to light at all - Nothing!  This oven has the MSC shut off valve, with thermocouple for oven on after the standby pilot increases to the Heater pilot flame for oven manifold operation.  I did notice a very slight odor of gas, but igniting the pilot with a flame did not produce anything at all.  And the odor dissipated.   Scratching head!  Checked all burners and working oven for operation, all work fine.

The Robertshaw Flame master LO-temp oven control model  UA  has a 'select a gas' valve for LP or Nat gas., and is being fed by Nat. gas.

Oven - Crown 'Carefree'  S/N87880   M/N 246 249

Anyone had experience with this application?  Thanks in advance, I love trouble shooting these problems - but when I hit an issue like this, help is appreciated.
