Hello all,

Was a USER HERE a LONG TIME ago under a different name. I understand that I no longer have access to service manuals but could use a little help please.

I own a Handyman Service and occasionally take on appliance repair and tomorrow I am going to look at an ice maker issue for the model frig listed in the title.

I never dreamed I would not be able to scrounge up a service manual but here I am with NOTHING and my site visit is tomorrow at noon.

I found a few things on the infrared ice level detector, how to bypass it if need and how to initiate a harvest cycle but nothing really specific to my model, only similar units.

I have NO HISTORY on the unit and I'm not sure that the tenants do either as it seems they just moved in and the ice maker does not work. Wife stated husband is handy and they have checked the easy stuff but I will start from scratch and assume nothing.

If anyone could provide any tips such as checking a frozen fill tube for instance as this one makes quite a journey to get to the door. A Schematic would be EXCELLENT! A service manual would be MORE EXCELLENT!!! Even test point confirmation and expected readings on the ice maker would be beneficial. SECRET TECH TEST MENU's????? :)

Thank You Kind Sir's and Ladies!

Could not get the Ice Level Detector Receiver Optics to do anything other than a double blink. Not sure if there is some sequence other than clear line of sight? Tried removing power for 15 seconds, plugging back in, cycling door switch 3 times etc. The paddle that goes over the emitter on the left side is broken and missing but that has no proximity switch, correct? I assumed it just opens to block the beam with the door open so it will not harvest with the door open.

Ignored the broken paddle. Removed the infrared Receiver and jumpered out the blk - blk/wht wires to bypass the optics and it went through a Harvest and the tray filled.

I concluded that the customer should order the ice level control board, OEM P/N W10757851 and if they needed help installing it to give me a call.

Is there anything I overlooked? The part is $249.80 and not sure what to do if I called it wrong.😬

Discovered aftermarket ice level control boards for $29 on Amazon in time to redirect customer to order those. They will call me back to install.

Does anyone post here on the DIY? Just asking, first time back in years.

Before you go too far down the rabbit hole, check for broken wires in the freezer door hinge.

Other than that you'll probably get more answers when it's not Christmas weekend.

Terry, I see your point now looking at the basic schematic I was able to scrounge up. I did not verify voltage on the emitter board. However, when I bypassed the receiver board by jumpering the Blk/Blk-Wht wires it initiated a harvest cycle. Lesson learned for next time, hoping the wires are good but I will know what to check next.
Thanks for the input.

It's not a sure thing, just something common to check.
