Maytag MER6550AAQ Door Locked By Itself

I was setting the oven temp and lower door locked on its own.  Tried turning power breaker off and on,(didn't help),  tried turning cleaning cycle on and off (after which I got F9-1 and F9-2 codes, but oven still locked).  I was able to manually open it with a coat hanger.  But to keep this from happening again, would it work to just cut off the latch at the front of the oven when it meets the oven door?  Or do you have another idea?  I don't think they even make the door latch assembly for this oven anymore, and I would rather avoid doing that repair anyway.  Now the oven comes on normally, but I don't want to close the door all the way for fear this will happen again.

Normally your door lock with only engage after the oven has reached at temperature of around 650F degrees. If you are able to remove the door latch assembly try removing the spring and see if that will allow you to latch to move freely. If you can keep the latch in an open state the control should register this and you’ll be fine. This is an older model assembly. I checked nationwide no one sells it anymore
