Zojirushi EC-DAC50 coffee maker one-way valve

The one moving part is the one-way valve, and it turned to goo. Zojirushi  refuses to help citing  "liability reasons". I don't even know what the thing looks like, although an old Mr. Coffee valve appears to be a ball in a plastic cage stuffed in the water hose. Ideas?

You will waste more time and energy.

Buy a new machine is my suggestion.

I'm doing both. Their refusal to provide a 2 cent part made me mad.
