Samsung dryer keeps blowing thermal fuses

Recommended Posts

Hello, my Samsung dryer keeps blowing the thermal fuse (or thermostat, it’s difficult to tell which). I just replaced the heating element and thermostat for the third time, and replaced the thermal fuse for the fourth. A day later it’s now not heating once again. We’ve already had our vent duct cleaned this year, and I vacuumed out every inch on the inside of the dryer. I’ve noticed that when I pull out the lint trap there’s quite a lot of lint that seems to be bypassing it. Any help would be appreciated. I’m at the point of almost just throwing in the towel on this thing and getting a new dryer.

Try running the dryer with and without the lint screen installed, and see if there is a difference in airflow outside at the vent. I've seen a lot off lint screens become clogged by wax from dryer sheets. Before you give up I would recommend having an experienced appliance technician look at it, there might be something simple.

Check for build up on the blower wheel or any other area restricting airflow. Cycling thermostat my not operating properly. Not a common thing but it does happen.
