LG LSGL6337F Gas Range Inlet Fitting Issue

Recommended Posts

I am trying to install the LG LSGL6337F gas range in our new home. I have a flexible 1/2” gas line to connect to the gas supply. The instructions say to, “install a male 1/2” flare union adapter to the 1/2” NPT internal thread at the inlet of the pressure regulator.”
The fitting that came with the flexible gas line won’t screw into the inlet on the stove. It’s too big. And even if it did fit, the threads seem to be spaced too far apart on the union and won't match (what appear to be) narrower threads on the inlet on the pressure regulator. I’m at a loss. I thought that these fittings were fairly universal?  I've hooked up many ranges before, but this has me scratching my head.

there isn't a picture of the gas valve taht I could find online.  I would verify that your adapter is 1/2" NPT to start with.  NPT is going to be a slightly tapered thread.  The LG manual specifies 1/2-14 NPT for the valve side of the adapter.
