I see a small leak under my dishwasher, looks like it is running down the spring by the pump seal - should I replace buy the drain solenoid kit and replace this also, or is the part likely to last quite a bit longer?  Hate to waste money replacing good parts -

If your talking about the shaft seal to the flapper shaft usually replacing the seal is a good repair. Item 417 on the exploded parts view.

so the drain solenoid kit is not necessary if no problem with it?  It is not extremely likely to fail in the near future?  Couldn't find anything on how long these usually last, if they regularly go bad - ?

usually they fail if the timer holds in the actuated position too long

Not sue what you are talking about with this question the seal or the dishwasher?

the pump solenoid, wasn't sure if it is on borrowed time, or if I am good to just replace the seal - sounds like just replace the pump seal from what you are saying -
