GE Profile PSC23NSWASS Decision -- 13 yr old -- Repair or Replace?

Recommended Posts

My wife loves this fridge for functionality reasons.  And in that regard I agree.  But as a professional mechanical engineer & DIYer, I am now facing internal plastic tubing failures at hot location aged and tightly curved segments on the lower back right (facing from the front) side near the water valving complex.  Water supply of course now turned off.

1)  Would it be worth it to hire a tech to replace the affected and likely to be affected tubing?

2)  Unless GE has improved this aspect of the fridge, including the inadequate pixie roller feet (also an annoyance to unload the fridge before pulling it out)???  What better built fridge might we consider as a replacement?

Deeply appreciate any comments,

Deacon Bob
