Whirlpool lsr8233eq1 clothes washer noise at end of delicate cycle

My Whirlpool lsr8233eq1 top loading clothes washer is making a rapid clicking noise at the end of the delicate cycle. At the end of the delicate cycle there is a spin cycle that does not make noise, then a stop, and a second spin cycle with a rapid clicking noise as if something isn’t engaging correctly. This noise continues until the delicate cycle ends. The tub spins normally while the noise is occurring.

The noise did not occur when I ran a normal cycle. I only hear it at the end of delicate and the end of hand wash.

Based on other noise reports I removed the agitator, that had no impact. I also disconnected the water pump from the end of the motor, that had no impact.

I looked at a transmission diagram and this machine doesn’t seem to have separate gears for different settings so I’m at a loss for what would cause noise only during delicate or hand wash but not during a spin cycle on the normal setting.

Any advice is appreciated!

Clarifying the problem description:

The spin cycle at the end of delicates and at the end of hand washables is making a rapid clicking and squealing sound.
The rinse cycle (which spins the drum) during delicates and hand washables is not making noise.
The spin cycle in normal mode is not making noise.

The noise seems to be coming from the bottom of the machine near the motor and transmission.

Why would the spin cycle only make noise during delicates and hand washables?

The original poster doesn't really state the actual problem.  Makes weird noises but perhaps not an actual operational issue.

What specifically if your machine doing that it has not in the past and what is your model number from a model plate or sticker on the machine.
