WTW5640wx0 Whirlpool Cabrio won't spin DIY first timer

Howdy ya'll, its my first time doing this kinda thing so bare with me if you feel like it.

I got a top loading washer, won't spin. Did diagnostics and it won't spin, but will agitate and it popped up with error codes F7E1 and F7E7

F7E1 says that the main control cant determine speed of basket or speed changes too quickly

  • check to make sure the basket, impeller and motor are free
  • check harness connections from main control to motor and shifter
  • Do the #3a: test

And F7E7 is when basket speed sensor detects that target RPM was not reached and to

  • check for clothes between basket and tub
  • there might be a weak motor or run capacitor, no connection to run capacitor
  • load off balance. distribute clothes evenly
  • do Test #3b drive sysem

NOW, some questions in order of operation

  • basket and impeller are free, but how do I check if the motor is free? which motor? How do i access?
  • harness connections? where are those? the main lines that hold the basket? electrical lines?
  • Not trying to go there yet
  • no clothes btw basket and tub
  • weak motor? how do i check that?
  • If load was off balance how do i put things back to normal now that there is no load inside of it? Again, did the diagnostics and spinning is still a problem. did I ruin it?

Much love and appreciation
