Kenmore washer 417.41100000 E53 error

This machine does not complete cycles. It stops and the display flashes cll SRV. I put it in diagnostic mode and got the error code. It is E53. This indicates problem with communication between main control and motor control board. My question is, how to know which is at fault. Motor Control board, main control, wiring between them? Any help appreciated.

First verify 120 vac to mcu, the voltage is run through the door lock switch and has to be locked. Ohm out the motor windings, tach winding and all wire harnesses involved. Inspect the mcu for burnt components

Burnt mcu is usually the easiest thing to look for. In my experience, the mcu is the most probable component.
