I have a Jenn-Aire JGC9536 which is a glass top 5 burner drop in cooktop.  The center ignitor switch no longer clicks (part #74007773).    Part is not available, though they are available for left and right switches

2 questions....1) is there access to switch other than removing all 5 burners (screws not stainless and look pretty funky...soaking in penetrating oil but I'm not too hopeful).  I would think there would be an access door.  I could theoretically cut one, but expect no one giving blind advice would recommend that for safety reasons.  But if someone could suggest that I 'theoretically ' could...

2nd question.....the part is not avail anyway.   What is the difference between this center switch and the left or right ones?  Could I just modify the mount bracket or build one?  Could I open switch and clean contacts (I have sprayed electrical cleaner and it works for a short period....sometimes)  or even replace innards with a left or right switch?

I appreciate no one knows me or my skill level and that I am dealing with gas (and electric).   I am very cautious and have already paid for cremation so I have no intent on blowing  myself up.   I have an engineering background, so any input on a theoretical basis is appreciated

1. Unfortunately that's the only way to access and replace these switches.

2. I'm not 100% sure of this, but to me the only thing that makes logical sense is for these switches to be different in their orientation. So if you were to use the left or right side switches for the center burner, it most likely wouldn't close and cause the spark at the burner when you want it to.

Y on 1.  On 2, I think it would be positioning, where off might be to side rather than front.   We'll see when I get the screws out.  Hopefully wont need to replace.    any burners      thx.  will keep posted
