brand new 20 year old Thermador - Ignitor issue

In the process of looking for parts for my old Thermador, I found a new old stock Thermador RDDS30. It's literally never been used but I don't know much about it's history. Story was an older couple got it for a remodel and never installed, they passed, daughter sold in estate sale. It still has the "XLO" stickers on the cooktop. No sign it was ever used at all. So I had high hopes on it working like new.

I temp wired and plumbed the gas in my garage, and was excited to see that bright, unused, hard to find controller display.

All 4 burners work. Independently or all at once.  BUT, unless I turn on BOTH of the left eyes, the XLO eyes, all 4 igniters constantly fire.

All off = constant ignite
3 on, one left off = ditto
2 right on = ditto
left rear only on = ditto
left front only on = ditto
left front AND left rear on, they light and the sparking stops. Until I turn one or both back off.

I'm pretty crafty with things like this, given instructions.  Figure there must be a way to troubleshoot?

I also don't see any cycling going on on the 2 XLO burners, they come on low but stay on, I think they are supposed to cycle, so maybe 2 issues.

Any idea what is wrong? What to test? How to troubleshoot?
