Kitchenaid dishwasher enters diagnostic mode but does not start M:KDTE204GPS0 S:F93339266

Hello,

my dishwasher is rarely used. I recently found it will not start a cycle. A few seconds after pressing start and closing the door, the start/resume button starts blinking. I was able to get the dishwasher to enter diagnostic mode, but after pressing start and closing the door the lights just stay solid and never change. I tested the door switch and it had 0.4 ohms of resistance when closed and OL when open. This seemed like a good number to me.

any help would be appreciated, thanks.

Pete

Can you post the model number? How long did you wait for the lights to go off after putting it service mode?

Hi,

adding an update for anyone else that might run into this. I found corrosion on the main control board. After cleaning it all up, the dishwasher still didn’t work. I used a microscope to look at the PCB traces and found one that had corroded in half. It happened to be the circuit for the door switch. A little bit of solder and a small jumper wire and we are back in action!
