igloo Posted March 19, 2022 Posted March 19, 2022 Just want to point out to @Son of Samurai that I've been getting this problem for a long while when searching for Kenmore numbers. I type in 970-6872* and get nothing, so I shorten it by one number until I get to 970-6* and it still shows nothing. I try all these without the "-" too. Then I type in 970- and get 6 pages of posts with 970 Kenmore numbers; even 970-6XXX. After scrolling to the bottom to click next page, it shows nothing again. Wondering if this can be fixed.
Team Samurai Son of Samurai Posted March 19, 2022 Team Samurai Posted March 19, 2022 There’s actually a trick for this: you use two wildcards, with one replacing the entire Kenmore prefix. So for your example, it would look like this: *6872* Try that out to see how it works. 1 2

Thank you, came here to ask the proper format for searching Kenmore and thought I'd check if someone else already did first. 2
Rhubarb Tau Posted October 20, 2024 Posted October 20, 2024 (edited) I was about to post asking if Kenmore searches were a bug when I found this post @Son of Samurai I'm wondering if this maybe should be a pinned post? Edited October 20, 2024 by Rhubarb Tau 1

So confusion, ...... so then search within the "970' search results ? I'm thinking this would open a complete new results page void of the initial "970" results ? I've had this same issue in the past.
Captain Dunsel Posted November 11, 2024 Posted November 11, 2024 @bzserviceco you could try 970* but you should know that there are so many tech sheet and wiring diagrams that if you get no results just going to have to ask for it.Example would be that a Kenmore tech sheet would be listed under a Frigidaire model that you would not know that.

I've had this same issue in the past. Did you read the first few posts in this topic? They have the solution for exactly this problem. The trick with searching for Kenmore model numbers is to replace the entire Kenmore prefix with an asterisk. And yes, you can use an asterisk both at the beginning and at the end of a search term! For example, if you want to find info on a 970-6574*, you would search like so: *6574* Try it yourself — it works! Another tip: if you’re getting too many pages of search results, try selecting a particular area of the site to search in. For example, if you’re looking for manuals, select “Files” in the search bar drop-down menu. 4
