Good afternoon,

Installed an evap motor on this frigidaire french door LFHG2251TF6 6 weeks ago and resolved an SY FE error (voltage to fan but no go). Cust called me back out today with same issue/error. When I reset the unit power was restored to the fan. Safe to say bad main board?

Thanks,

Jared

Yes most likely if there are no other issues with the unit. If your thermistor registers appropriately for cooling but no fan operation due to a lack of control voltage from the board then yes.

Thanks for replying. So would it be the board on the compressor (inverter I assume) or the main board? I beleiev the main is underneath behind the toeplate front right? I'm getting different answers from techs I know and my supplier-- and I cant locate a diagram. Customer lives a good ways out and I'm trying to get this figured out before I head back down. Thanks in advance!

Guessing without tech documents is never productive. Go to manual request forum and request tech sheet. All your answers are there.

UPDATE: So I got the tech sheet and replaced the main board (behind the grill) and the fan fired up and worked for five days ‘til the customer calls back with the same SY EF error.  Could the evap motor I originally installed 7 weeks ago be taking out the board? I’m asking on here especially since the customer lives so far from me and I’ve already been out there too many times.

Now let me mention some weird things I noticed when I was last out to install the main board:

At the bottom left of the main board are two identical harnesses, J9 and J 11. The original board had the harness in J9 so that’s what I went with for the new board, but the fan did not fire up.

So I checked on the tech sheet and although it was unclear, it seemed to point to J 11 being the proper harness. I reinstalled it in J 11 and the fan came on.

BUT it would not come on in test mode, however it also did not come on installed in J 9.

i’m trying to give as much information as I can. Really hoping a tech who has dealt with this before can chime in. I’m not able to attach pictures due to file size. Yea f anyone knows a way around this let me know.

thanks again

Also I’m seeing where at least one tech resolved this issue with the display board. As I said above the fan came on when reseated in J11. That harness goes to display. Can anyone weigh in on this?
