kenmore freezer 253.23024101 high temp alarm - temp is fine

My kenmore freezer high temp alarm has been going off for the last several weeks.  I can silence it for about 12 hours, but it always comes back.  Everything is frozen in the freezer, so I bought a freezer thermometer and it is always between 5 - 9 degrees F, so it seems that the alarm is going off in error.  This freezer has a back up battery, which I replaced.  I am fine with just disabling the buzzer, but it seems to be coming from the electronic module, and I don't see a way to do it.  What can a check, or replace, or is there a way to disable the buzzer?

Sounds like the unit is functioning as directed. A freezer should measure 0F to -3F some even -5 dependent upon user settings. Registering nearly 10F is a problem about to happen. Or is your thermometer off?
