We just bought a home with this fridge. The ice maker has never worked since we are here. The water supply is on but no ice makes. Every 30 minutes or so I here knocking sounds coming from the fridge. I am trying to figure this out on my own before hiring someone. I feel like this should be an easy fix. Suggestions please.

Is there ice in the ice maker mold?

if yes, water supply probably ok

Theres a test button on ice maker hold it down for 3 seconds or so. Does ice maker cycle?
