New Bosch dishwasher door wont stay open

Hi there - I am renovating my kitchen and it is 90% completed.  Have the dishwasher in place, hooked up, and waiting to be secured and have the countertops mounted above it.  I want to give it a test drive, but when I pull on the door it takes a great deal of force to get it to open and then pulling it downward takes much more force than it should.  And if I let go of it it springs back closed.  It obviously needs to have a tension adjustment of some kind bur I see nothing about how to do that in any of the "manuals" and I have found nothing online that helps.  It's a Bosch 800 Series Custom Panel SHVM78Z53N.

Any ideas?

Thanks!

Does this unit have a custom cabinet front installed? The springs in these Bosch units aren't usually adjustable and they may be weighted to counter a heavy custom front panel.

Hmmm that could be it.  I have a custom wood panel but it has not been installed yet.  It will add a good bit of weight.  Of course that's it - thanks so much!

No problem. Good luck with the rest of the renovation.
