Kelvinator Washer Mod # AW501-C2W

I am trying to replace the belt on an older Kelvinator washer, model number AW501-C2W. The washer is the Franklin style with access to the motor, pump, and belt via a small panel that can be removed from the front of the machine.

It appears that the belt cannot be removed or put on without detaching the pump from the motor. Is this correct?

If it is correct, are there only two screws attaching the pump to the motor and are there any special methods I should know about (i.e. should I remove the back etc...)

Any help would be much appreciated.

:yikes:  WOW it is old--i believe there are 4 5/16" or 1/4"hex screws holding pump- plus an allen screw/pin on motor shaft. the hardest screw is the rear--however, this machine may have an access hole in the base--so you  may have to tip the washer up to insert a long shaft nut driver--also when you start removing the pump  be careful not break the pump shaft seal --[pump maybe stuck to the motor-- there is NO easy way to do it- also take note of the idler pulley setting. I maybe totally wrong i haven't seen this model for 20 years! good luck and have six pack handy:cool:

P.S if the motor/pump is near the back yes remove the back.
