Maytag french door fridge model # MF I2665XEM6 . The ice maker bin only fills partially. Thaw out with power off and using a hairdryer. Proceeds to make ice , again bin nowhere near full . I removed the ice making unit,  and found  a plug of ice in the blue funnel/chute . I would guess this would prevent the water from flowing thru to the ice tray. Is there a defrost or heater that keeps this chute open?  What could be causing this ice in the chute ? Unit is 10 years old , and the Fridge has worked flawlessly up to this point. Thanks in advance for any guidance .

Couple things can usually cause this: low water pressure to the refrigerator, old water filter, or a bad inlet valve that lets water drip into the fill cup on the ice maker. Most of the ones I see are bad inlet valves. Here is a link to a video on how to replace the most common valve on your fridge. There is a second one if you pull the unit out and take the back cover off. I’ve had to do both before. I think the flow rate is close to a gallon a minute at the dispenser
