W10280489 Won't final spin, but works fine in manual test

Howdy everybody -

I have an older Admiral W10280489 top loading washer that will run through the wash cycle but do nothing on final spin. The water drains, but the clothes are still extremely wet. The machine will sit idle with the green final spin light illuminated until cycle complete. I have noticed that the lid lock light is not illuminated while sitting at final spin. The washer does wash/agitate properly with the lid locked as it should.

I put the machine into manual troubleshooting mode, and am able to lock the lid, run the agitate low and high cycles, and the spin low and high cycles. I also verified that the tachometer is working through the diagnostic mode.

User manual is here: https://www.pwslaundry.com/files/docs/maytag-whirlpool/Tech-Sheet-W10280489-Rev-D.pdf

I receive the following error codes from the diagnostic mode:
7E1 – BASKET SPEED SENSOR FAULT
F7E5 – SHIFTER FAULT
F7E7 – MOTOR UNABLE TO REACH TARGET RPMS

I am concerned that because I can lock the lid and run the various shifter and motor related cycles this may be a main board issue. I am tempted to replace the lid switch/lock first because it is a cheap part and not locking on final spin, but it does lock and unlock without issue during manual test as well as the wash cycle.

Any advice is greatly appreciated!

the model you gave is actually the part number to a tech sheet

Probably bad speed sensor which is second function of actuator(shifter).

Replace actuator and you’ll be golden.
